Shine

Shine is one of the two title characters and protagonists in Shimmer and Shine.

Description

"Shine is sassy, courageous, and confident. Even though Shimmer and Shine are twins, Shine is technically the older sister. But only by one minute! She’s full of words of wisdom and TONS of spunk! She LOVES animals, especially her beloved pet Bengal tiger cub Nahal."

Looks

Shine is a short genie kid with long dark blue hair in a high ponytail curving upward at the ends and big, purple eyes. She has five thick eyelashes on each eye. She has a golden band on her forehead with a pink gem hanging between her blue eyebrows. She also wears a bright teal-colored outfit with a darker ribbon at the waist. The short sleeves on her shirt have gold cuffs on them. Her pants have white pearls at the bottom. She also wears a pair of gold shoes. Underneath her genie outfit, Shine wears a blue training bra with white straps and white panties with purple lining and a purple star pattern on them.

Appearances

Shine appears in every episode of the show. She first appeared in the pilot and last appeared in "The Sorcerenie." Since the show's ending, Shine has been seen in some new animations for the Noggin app.

Trivia

A running gag in the show is that Shine is almost always hungry, which makes her grant snack-themed wishes. For example, she turns the bars of a birdcage into candy in "Welcome to Zahramay Falls".
Her stomach growled twice in "Sleep-Over Party" and the end of "Treehouse Retreat".
Shine is very knowledgeable about different kinds of animals, as shown in episodes like "Dragon Pox".
Shine comes across as the older sister (technically she is, but only by a minute).
Her and Shimmer's parents were never seen in-series, even though many adult genies were shown.
Her voice actress, Isabella Crovetti-Cramp, is also the voice of Vee Hauntley in "Vampirina".
